We work with two large plantations that grow coffee, bananas, macadamia nuts, and other crops. Both are collectives that practice organic farming techniques. Opportunities include helping to pick and process the harvest, working on construction projects, giving computer help, teaching, and helping with child care.
In addition, we are closely associated with farming and rural development projects in a number of other communities. These opportunities include options for half-day, weekend, and full-time work (you need to study at the Spanish school at least two weeks before starting a full-time project).
Naturally, because the harvest is seasonal, this work will depend on the season, but the other needs of the collectives are year-round.
