A multitude of volunteer opportunities await in the business field. One women's collective that we work with produces jams, and students can volunteer in all aspects of production and commercialization of the products. Those students with an MBA or a business background may be able to help micro-businesses develop a budget and a business plan.
There are also opportunities for photographers, graphics designers, and web designers to help businesses and non-governmental organizations produce brochures and web sites to publicize their work. Other opportunities involve helping villages to develop plans and manage development projects.
Of course, your length of stay, skills, and level of Spanish, in addition to the needs of the businesses and community groups, will have an impact on what specific projects are offered when you attend.
