Intensive Spanish Classes

Medical Spanish and Business Spanish

Our medical Spanish students with Guatemalan medical students.

Optional medical Spanish (human, pharmacy, and veterinary) and business Spanish programs add specialized instruction, customized activities, and practical volunteer experience in rural medical clinics or businesses. Many students receive college credit, medical rotation credit, or workplace advancement after completing our program.

Volunteering

Volunteer with school children.

Volunteer opportunities include teaching, community health, child care, working in an orphanage, photography, news reporting, micro-business, computer and technical support, harvesting crops, counseling, building houses, and much more. Improve your Spanish while helping the community. It's part of the mission of our school, and there's no additional cost to participate.

Homestay

A family in their kitchen.

Experience being part of a Guatemalan family, sharing mealtimes and events. Wholesome food is served three times a day, with vegetarian, vegan, and special dietary options available. Couples and families may choose to stay together, and child care can be arranged for students with small children.

Spacious sunlit classrooms, and outdoor balcony and roof-top areas, make our Spanish school a comfortable and inviting place to study. Inside there's also two multi-purpose rooms, a comprehensive library, a kitchen, and free Internet access.

Miguel Angel Asturias Spanish School is certified by the Guatemalan Ministry of Education (Mineduc) and the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (INGUAT), and is a founding member of the Association of Spanish Schools of Quetzaltenango (ACEEQ).
